Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has officially reviewed the first edition of the Dubai State of AI Report and witnessed the launch of Dubai’s new AI Policy for Government Entities during his visit to Dubai AI Week 2025.
The report and policy were unveiled at the Digital Dubai Showcase by Digital Dubai and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan. The initiative is part of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence’s efforts to accelerate AI adoption across the emirate’s public sector.
Sheikh Hamdan described the report as a critical milestone in the city’s digital transformation, underscoring AI’s growing role in enhancing the delivery and efficiency of government services.
The Dubai State of AI Report outlines more than 100 high-impact AI use cases currently shaping operations across sectors such as healthcare, finance, urban planning, mobility, procurement, and public services.
Many of these applications are already operational, with others under development. The report details Dubai’s progress from strategic vision to implementation, aiming to position the city as a global leader in responsible and scalable government AI.
Key government figures, including Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, director general of the Digital Dubai Authority, attended the launch. According to the report, AI is being deployed in areas like early disease detection, emergency response, citizen engagement, and public health planning — with the goal of making Dubai the most citizen-centric digital city in the world.
Accompanying the report, the newly launched AI Policy provides a governance framework for the ethical and effective deployment of AI across all government departments. It emphasises explainability, human-centric design, interoperability, and proactive regulation, aligning with commitments made during the AI Retreat 2024.
Digital Dubai’s exhibition at AI Week features live demonstrations of AI tools such as intelligent hiring systems, resource optimisation platforms, and strategic planning applications, showcasing the practical impact of the technology in public administration.
Looking ahead, the report outlines Dubai’s AI vision through 2035, focusing on predictive public services, agile regulation, high-performance computing, sustainable infrastructure, and a robust AI innovation ecosystem built on public-private collaboration.
Together, the Dubai State of AI Report and the AI Policy mark a significant step in institutionalising AI within government operations, laying the foundation for a data-driven, citizen-focused, and future-ready public sector.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said: “The impact of artificial intelligence is now evident in many sectors and fields, and the government sector is certainly one of them. We want Dubai’s government entities to be fully prepared and ready for the transformations to come.
“We reiterate the importance of collaboration among all government entities to exchange knowledge and successful practices in various AI applications in government work.”
