Advanced technology and defence company EDGE Group has partnered with Indra Sistemas, a provider of information technology and defence systems, to form a joint venture aimed at developing radar systems.
The new entity, called PULSE, will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and marks a significant step in both companies’ efforts to bolster their presence in global defence markets.

The agreement, which was signed in Madrid, solidifies the partnership between EDGE and Indra that began in 2023. The signing ceremony took place at the Spanish Ministry of Defence, in the presence of high-profile officials, including Spain’s Minister for Defence, Margarita Robles Fernández, and EDGE’s Chairman H.E. Faisal Al Bannai.
PULSE will focus on the engineering, design, development, integration, and maintenance of next-generation radar systems. The company will operate from a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi, where it aims to enhance radar production capacity and meet the growing demand for advanced radar systems in high-potential markets worldwide.
The joint venture will be divided into two entities. One will be majority-owned by Indra, while the other will be majority-owned by EDGE.
The Indra-led entity will focus on the development, design, integration, and sales of radar systems, while the EDGE-led entity will handle the manufacturing operations at the new factory in Abu Dhabi.
José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, said: “In Abu Dhabi, we plan to create a new state-of-the-art factory with the most sophisticated technology, prepared to respond to the high anticipated demand for the most innovative radar systems in the coming years.
“The new entity we are going to create with EDGE will help us accelerate the transformation of the defence business towards a more international profile and mindset, as outlined in our Leading the Future strategic plan.”
