Flexiv, a developer of general-purpose robotics solutions, is expanding its operations in Singapore, a market the company considers critical for its growth.
The decision to expand comes as the country continues to emphasise the adoption of advanced technology to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity across various industries.
Recent data from the International Federation of Robotics reveals that Singapore has one of the highest robot densities in the world, with 730 to 770 robots per 10,000 employees. This ranks the country second globally, just behind South Korea. Despite its relatively small manufacturing workforce, Singapore’s rapid adoption of industrial robotics highlights its commitment to automation.
To support its growing operations, Flexiv has recently moved to a larger facility within Singapore Science Park 1. This expansion is designed to accommodate an increasing team and meet rising customer demand for the company’s innovative robotic solutions. The move effectively doubles the company’s warehouse space and expands its commissioning area, allowing Flexiv Singapore to better serve its expanding customer base.
The new office will also serve as a regional hub for Flexiv, providing improved access to technical expertise, localised support, and customised solutions. This expansion aligns with broader regional trends, with Asia accounting for 73% of all newly deployed industrial robots in 2023, according to the International Federation of Robotics.
The surge in automation is reshaping manufacturing and other industries, underscoring the growing demand for robotic solutions.
Flexiv’s adaptive robots are gaining traction for their ability to perform a wide range of tasks, from traditional applications like assembly and packaging to more complex activities that require human-like touch, such as precision insertion and material abrasion.
These robots integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, improving productivity, safety, and operational flexibility.
The company’s expansion in Singapore reflects its broader strategy to drive automation across various sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and hospitality. With this move, Flexiv aims to further accelerate the adoption of robotic solutions and contribute to the continued growth of automation in Southeast Asia and beyond.
